-
Properly cleanse the tattooed area by cleaning it gently with an antibacterial unscented soap (we recommend a simple bar of Dial soap).
-
Moisturize your tattoo with natural, gentle, unscented lotions as needed.
-
(We recommend Reborn aftercare products, which you can purchase from our studio.)
-
-
Use a sterile bandage(s) or other sterile dressing(s) as needed.

DERMSHIELD HEALING
At Tiger Tattoos, we utilize Inksavers Derm-guard to heal all new tattoos. This is a brand of clean, latex free bandage that is applied over the fresh tattoo. This is considered the best and safest method for healing a new tattoo.
**Please be aware that this is an adhesive product, so if you have adhesive allergy, please inform your artist so they can use a different method of aftercare.**

-
Your artist will apply a layer of Derm-guard that completely covers the new tattoo.
-
This first piece of Derm-guard should remain on for 24 hours.
-
-
After 24 hours, remove the Derm-guard in the shower, allowing the water to help loosen the adhesive. While in the shower, clean your tattoo gently using antibacterial unscented soap. Do not use rough items like a washcloth, or exfoliator to clean your tattoo. Rinse your tattoo thoroughly to remove any residue of soap left on the skin.
-
Pat dry with a clean paper towel and ensure the skin has been dried completely before proceeding.
-
Do not apply any moisturizer or lotion at this time, the skin must be dry to apply the next piece of Derm-guard.
-
-
Remove the white backing from your second piece of Derm-guard, and apply it so it completely covers the tattoo as flat as possible.
-
Peel the green grid from the front of the Derm-guard, this second piece will remain on for 5-6 days, or until it falls off on its own.
You may shower with your Derm-guard on, but it is not waterproof, only water resistant, so do not submerge your Derm-guard in water.
If you have sensitive skin or an adhesive allergy, you may notice mild irritation or redness around your Derm-guard. If this is the case, you may remove your Derm-guard early.
If you need help applying your second piece of Derm-guard, please come see us in studio and we would be happy to apply it for you!

NATURAL HEALING
These instructions are to be used in the case that your Derm-guard was removed early, or you aree unable to use Derm-guard like products, but sticking to the Derm-guard is our recommendation for the best healing of your tattoo.
-
Wash your hands and clean your tattoo using an unscented antibacterial soap. Gently scrub the tattoo clean, but do not use rough items such as a washcloth or exfoliator.
-
Rinse your tattoo well after cleaning to ensure NO residual soap is left on the skin.
-
-
During the first week, wash your tattoo as instructed 2-3 times per day; After the first week, you may reduce to 1-2 times per day.
-
Clean your tattoo so that the least possible amount of blood or plasma is drying on the skin.
-
-
If you are sweating, working out, or doing any activity that causes your skin to become dirty, wash your tattoo afterward.
-
Between washings, you should keep your skin well hydrated with an unscented moisturizing lotion as needed. Apply a thin layer as needed.
